I’m a first-generation Mexican American, born in Fresno, California, and raised on the south side of Chicago in the Little Village neighborhood. I learned to draw by watching my father sketch in notebooks as we enjoyed early morning cartoons together. I never took formal art classes, but I filled notebooks with sketches, especially during school. While I had a natural talent, art wasn’t encouraged as a career in my household—academic success and a secure career path took priority. It wasn’t until I turned 30 that I decided to finally pursue art the way I had always dreamed: one brushstroke at a time.

I love exploring the intersection of landscapes and establishing shots, often drawing inspiration from my travel photography, as well as movies, TV, and Mexican culture. I’m especially drawn to perfect lighting, shadows, reflections, and scenes that capture a mood, creating pieces that invite the audience to step right in. My main medium is acrylic on canvas, though I’d love to try oil in the future. I’ve painted all my life, but only recently began pursuing it as a profession and field of study.

Right now, I have about seven paintings in my collection, adding more every couple of months. Prints are available for anyone who wants to bring my art into their home. Originals aren’t for sale yet, as I’m still building my collection to showcase in live gallery exhibitions.
